Built around how the big answer engines actually read the web

  • ChatGPT
  • Perplexity
  • Google AI Mode
  • Microsoft Copilot
  • Gemini

Three steps, plain and simple

1See where you stand

Every page gets a 0-100 score for how easily AI can read and recommend it, plus one whole-site readiness score.

2Get the exact changes

Rewrites, structured data, and meta tags — written from your real content, never invented. You review everything.

3Apply it and track it

Copy each change into your site, mark it done, and re-scan to see exactly what improved.

Two clear scores, no jargon

Site Readiness

Can AI reach and crawl your site at all? We check your robots.txt, sitemap, HTTPS, and more — and tell you exactly what is blocking access.

Content Readiness

How easy is each page to recommend? We score what actually helps AI quote you: clear structure, specific facts, and real answers to your visitors' questions.

We tell you how AI-ready you are — not how often you'll be cited. It's an honest readiness check, not a promise.

Honest about what works — and what doesn't

The web is full of AI-optimization advice that promises citations it can't deliver. We grade every recommendation by evidence — proven, emerging, or unproven — and tell you which is which. We'll never sell you a magic file. And we never touch your site: every change is yours to review and apply.

The evidence behind the score

The rubric is not our opinion — every weight traces to published research or an engine's own documentation. Four factors, one hundred points:

FactorPointsWhat it counts
Technical density 35 Concrete, attributable facts — numbers, named sources, quotations
Structured data 25 Correct schema.org JSON-LD and metadata, counted deterministically
Answerability 20 Whether the page actually answers its visitors' questions
Extractability 20 Liftable structure: one clear H1, logical headings, lists, an answer-first opening
  • Technical density weighs the most because it is the only causally demonstrated lever. In a 10,000-query benchmark on live answer engines, adding quotations lifted visibility about 41%, statistics about 31%, and cited sources about 30% — while keyword stuffing cost roughly 10%.

  • Structured data is scored as hygiene, not magic. Correct schema.org helps engines understand your page, but Google's own documentation says no special markup is required for AI features — so we count what is verifiably present and never sell schema as a citation booster.

  • Site readiness checks robots.txt access for 12 AI crawlers by name, and weights blocking a search crawler far more heavily than blocking a training one — because only the first removes you from live AI answers.

  • Scores are built to be reproducible: a fixed rubric, deterministic checks, and model calls at temperature zero. An unchanged page keeps its score — we fingerprint content and only re-score what actually changed.

Start with a one-click check

The free AnswerProof AI readiness check extension for Chrome scores the machine-countable half of this rubric on the page you're viewing — AI crawler access, structured data and metadata, extractability — entirely in your browser, with no account. For the rest, how well your content actually answers visitors' questions, the full scan reads your whole site and writes the exact fixes for you to review.

What you'll get

  • Grounded rewrites of thin or unclear pages
  • Structured data (schema.org JSON-LD) ready to paste
  • Title and meta suggestions within the right lengths
  • A site llms.txt — honest, low-cost future-proofing
  • A review screen that copies each change into your CMS
  • Improvement tracking — re-scan and see what moved
We only ever read your pages — we never change your site. Every suggestion is yours to review and apply.

Frequently asked questions

What does the scan actually check?

Two things. Site readiness: whether AI crawlers can reach your site at all — robots.txt, sitemap, HTTPS. Content readiness: how easy each page is to quote — clear structure, specific facts, and real answers to the questions your visitors ask.

Will AnswerProof change my website?

No, never. We only ever read your pages. Every rewrite, structured-data block, and meta suggestion is a draft you review and apply yourself — there is no publish button, and we have no access to your site.

Which AI engines does it cover?

The checks are built around how ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot, and Gemini actually read the web — including which of their crawlers your robots.txt allows or blocks.

Does a high score mean AI will cite my site?

No — and we won't pretend otherwise. The score measures how ready your site is for AI to read and recommend, not how often it will be cited. We grade every recommendation by evidence and tell you which ones are proven and which aren't.

What do I need to get started?

Your site's sitemap address — most sites have one at yoursite.com/sitemap.xml. We check that your robots.txt allows us to visit before we read a single page, and there's nothing to install.
